About WYD 2019:

World Youth Day 2019 is an international Catholic event focused on religious faith and youth, due to be celebrated on January 22-27, 2019 in Panama City, Panama. This will be first WYD to take place in Central America. Panamanian bishops welcomed the event, saying that Panama's location as the "bridge between two continents" will make it a multicultural event and a "fiesta latina".

St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church sent 25 World Youth Day Pilgrimgs to Krakow, Poland in the summer of 2016

Dear Community of St. Jude,

This past week St. Jude sent 25 World Youth Day Pilgrims from the Albuquerque International Airport to Europe.  It was a very joyous moment, as I know the time these youth and their families have put into this World Youth Day Pilgrimage.  It was a commitment for most made two and half years ago. Together they have been fundraising, praying, and growing in fellowship since February of 2014.  This journey commenced spiritually and monetarily when some of our pilgrims were only in 7th grade.  Now, as they journey to Rome, Italy and Krakow, Poland they enter their sophomore year of high school.  Our World Youth Day Pilgrims have been meeting regularly over the past two and half years not only growing together as friends but also becoming a family.  The time they have spent together has allowed each one to grow closer to Christ and to one another.  I want to thank you, the St. Jude community for making this possible.  For without you and your continued support the World Youth Day Pilgrimage would not have been possible.  As our Pilgrims encounter Christ on their pilgrimage please keep them all in your prayers.  I look forward to their return and the fruit they will bear at St. Jude.  May God continue to bless each one of you and again, thank you for all your prayers and support you have given the youth of St. Jude and especially our WYD Pilgrims.

God Bless,

Lori Ortiz-Gallegos

As our Pilgrims encounter Christ on their pilgrimage please keep them all in your prayers.
