Ministries at St. Jude 

ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology and Service) retreats have enriched the spiritual lives of men and women; retirees, rich and poor Catholics and non-Catholics. If you are seeking to learn where you stand with the Lord or continue your relationship with Jesus Christ, we are encouraging you to attend a retreat. ACTS Retreat has reinvigorated the spiritual lives of individuals, of families, of entire parishes. 

People have credited ACTS with saving their lives, saving their marriages, making one closer with there children simply by opening their eyes and their hearts to God’s word. Click here for more info.

St. Jude Parish has a Bereavement Ministry dedicated to assisting people in their greatest time of need, when they are grieving and need help planning a funeral. If you are interested in joining the Bereavement ministry, please contact the Parish Office at 505-898-0826.

As a National Organization, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas flourish under their motto of Unity and Charity. Our Court at St. Jude has focused for many years on achieving this under our Circle of Love Program which consists of Leadership, Spiritual Enhancement, Quality of Life, Youth, Education and Legislation.  Click here for more information. 

Monday through Fridays from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM in the Chapel. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance. Click here for more information. 

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

The feed the hungry ministry takes lunches, extra water, clothes, and toiletries to those in need on Tuesdays. Every week, they give out approximately 200 lunches to those in need. They also give out men’s and women’s clothing and small toiletries. They meet on Tuesday mornings to pack the lunches and prepare items to give out. Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

The Guadalupanos are formed by a group of people with devotion to the Holy Mother of God, the Virgin Mary of the Americas, Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Initially the devotion and identification was among the people of Mexico.  This devotion has grown.  The Guadalupano Society is an international organization dedicated to the spiritual well being of both men and women of all nationalities, cultures, regardless of race and all differences which includes all local parishioners.

The Help the Needy Committee provides assistance for people in need with payments of their utilities. The committee provided assistance with about $6,000 a month for the 20 months throughout the pandemic and we continue to do so. Thanks to all our parish members who have donated to this committee. We could not have helped all those people without your help. 

The committee is in need of members. If you are interested in joining us we meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month after the 8:00 AM Mass or around 8:30am for about 1.5 hours in Room #2. Prepare yourself for the spiritual battle raging around you. To step into the breach requires every man to have faith and take action. The Into the Breach series challenges men to seek greatness and to be heroically virtuous, to have a character marked by goodness and truth, strength and courage. 

Through shared experience and discussion, men build a brotherhood through Into the Breach, strengthening them in their mission as disciples. We will learn how to be stronger fathers, better husbands and men fit for the breach as we work together with our spiritual director, Deacon Rob. This weekly program meets Thursday Mornings from 6:30-7:30am in the parish hall.

The Knights of Columbus are Catholic men who lead, serve, protect and defend. They share a desire to be better husbands, fathers, sons, neighbors, role models, and to put charity and community first.  As our home parish is St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, we are involved in a variety of projects and service to the church community as well as supporting civic activities in our local community of Albuquerque. Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

The St. Jude Thaddeus Pastoral Council represents a collaborative effort between our pastor, fellow parishioners, and the many ministries of St. Jude.  The Council provides a conduit for communication, guidance, and coordinated planning for our growing Catholic community.  The Council promotes participation in parish life through its member’s assistance with the annual parish fiesta, Good Friday pilgrimage walk, events to welcome new parishioners, and through its work to implement other initiatives and priorities of the Pastor. 

Representatives of parish ministries at St. Jude who have been invited by the Pastor, serve in an advisory capacity on the Pastoral Council; additional members consist of representatives from the weekend Masses and St. Jude’s Pastoral team.  Regular bi-monthly meetings of the Council are open to all parishioners as observers (please check the bulletin for the upcoming meeting schedule).  For more information or to present an issue or concern to the Council, please leave a message at the parish office or send an email to pastoralcouncil1@gmail.com.  

If you knit, crochet or sew we can use your talents. The Stitch and Knit group provides donations of hand crafted and hand finished items to local charities/organizations that offer help and support to underprivileged youth and adults. Click here for more information.

Women of Grace Full of Grace: Women and the Abundant Life Foundational Study is an integral program in the formation of Catholic women in understanding and affirming them in their dignity and vocation as daughters of God and in their gift of authentic femininity.  A true theology of women begins here. The study takes a multi-media approach to dig deeply into Catholic teaching using the textbook, the Catechism, citations from Vatican II and other Magisterial documents as well as the biographies of 16 Catholic Women saints. The St. Jude Young Adult Ministry is built on growing in community, faith, and service as The Body of Christ. Our mission is to develop relationships that lead us into discipleship. We often have outings outside of St. Jude, join other young adult groups in Albuquerque such as Come to Christ and Theology on Tap, and volunteer as a ministry when we are called to serve.
